"And It Was Said, She Gave Her Best."
I gave my best with no regrets. I've lived a happy life.
Hi dears,
Howdy do? I hope you're doing well. God keeps proving His faithfulness each day, and I am constantly in awe of His goodness.
In this post, I reflect on the new year I recently added. This year was particularly different because one thing Abba graciously taught me was the importance of giving my best.
In a world where we're often so hard on ourselves for not measuring up to certain bizarre standards, standards that society, social media, or even we set, God asked me to focus on something simpler yet profound: giving my best, whatever that may look like each day.
This mindset shift has transformed how I approach everything I do. Giving my best has become a non-negotiable in my life. Now, every night when my head hits the pillow, the first question that tugs at my heart is, Faith, did you give your best today, for Him? It’s a question that keeps me grounded, not in perfection but in intentionality.
What I’ve learned is that my best can vary from day to day. Some days, it looks like pouring my energy into my walk with Him, my work, relationships, or schoolwork. On other days, my best might simply be showing up with a heart full of gratitude, even if my energy is low or the day feels overwhelming. But regardless of how my best looks on any given day, I sleep easily knowing that I gave it.
Have I faced challenges along the way? Absolutely. I've been hurt, disappointed, and stretched beyond my comfort zone. I've learned that not everyone will appreciate or reciprocate the effort I put in. Sometimes, my best wasn’t enough for certain people, and that’s okay. Giving your best doesn’t guarantee smooth sailing, but it does guarantee growth and peace.
And yes, my best has looked different depending on who was involved. Some people, in some situations, have required more of me than others. But I have come to understand that this is the beauty of living a life that is full, vibrant, and surrendered to God.
So, as I step into this new chapter of my life, my prayer remains the same: that I would continue to give my best, in every circumstance, for God’s glory and my joy.
I want to encourage you to ask yourself: Are you giving your best today? Not according to someone else's standards, but to the capacity God has given you in this moment.
