Phototropism
The science child in me is happy.
Hi dears,
Howdy do?
I see some of you rejoicing over the public holiday on Monday while I’m here wishing I had one again. I had one recently, but let’s face it—who doesn’t need some rest now and then?
Last week, I shared the exciting news of becoming a plant mom. Since then, I’ve been amazed by how much care these little green lives need! I noticed something fascinating: my plant is tilting toward the window, its leaves reaching for the light. This is called positive phototropism, where plants naturally grow towards light sources. And the more they receive, the healthier they become.
In the same way plants reach for the light to thrive, God wants us to grow towards him daily. The same way positive phototropism helps a plant grow strong, God calls us to grow toward Him daily—staying connected, yielding to His will, and drawing strength from His presence. When we do, we experience true growth, flourishing in His light.
As John 15:5 (TPT) reminds us:
“I am the sprouting vine, and you’re my branches. As you live in union with me as your source, fruitfulness will stream from within you—but when you live separated from me, you are powerless.”
So, as we go through the week, let’s pause and ask ourselves—are we intentionally growing toward the light of God’s presence? Just as my plant knows it can’t thrive without sunlight, we can flourish only when we stay connected to our Source. Let’s be mindful of this daily, seeking His wisdom, love, and grace in all we do.
Until I come your way again, may your heart and steps be drawn closer to the One who gives you life and strength.

Thanks for your words. I pray for the grace to remain connected to God, where true satisfaction is found.
